Restless Legs

Do your legs have a mind of their own? Some legs suddenly let you down at the most annoying times like when you are in the swimming pool or dancing with the most painful cramps. Sometimes they will wake you in the middle of the night with a cramp. And some other legs will stop their owner from sleeping by twitching uncontrollably, these are appropriately called “restless legs”.

What's the solution? Easy! Cramps in the legs are almost always a symptom of calcium deficiency. So you need to eat more calcium rich foods such as yoghurt and if the cramps are really bad or occur very often then you probably need to take supplementary calcium in tablet form. A vitamin E deficiency can also cause leg cramps.

Restless legs are usually the symptom of vitamin E deficiency and also B vitamins deficiency. So, if you make sure you include in your diet: dark green leafy vegetables, wheat germ, yogurt, milk, cheese, liver, egg yolk, broccoli and tahini (sesame paste) you will soon feel at one with your own legs again!

They can also be due to a zinc deficiency. Try taking Zinc before bed (50 mg). You may also need a balancing of your minerals intake. The best thing for this is the humble Kelp, you can add it to food in powder form or take Kelp in tablet form. For restless legs, one tablet a day after breakfast will probably be sufficient.
